Kowsar Dehbanzadeh, the sister of political prisoner Meysam Dehbanzadeh, who is detained in Qezel Hesar Prison in Karaj, has been held in custody for over two months following her arrest in Shiraz on September 27, 2024. According to HRANA, citing a source close to her family, Ms. Dehbanzadeh, who initially was in solitary confinement in ward 100 for more than a month and then transferred to a multi-person cell, is still being held in this facility.
To further pressure her, authorities have restricted her family contact, permitting only two visits and one weekly phone call since her arrest. During interrogations, she has been accused of alleged connections to the "Mojahedin-e Khalq (MEK)."
Ms. Dehbanzadeh has previously faced repeated summons and interrogations by intelligence officials due to her efforts to seek justice for her brother and her advocacy on his behalf.
