On December 19, 2024, Kamal Babaei, a resident of Najafabad, posted a video reporting that officers had forcibly entered his home. In the video, Mr. Babaei stated that the officers’ actions terrified his wife and child and forced him to break his vow of silence. He emphasized that if the authorities had summoned him, he would have gone voluntarily. He further claimed that both he and his children were ill and denied all eleven charges brought against him, describing them as baseless.

Addressing the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Republic, Mr. Babaei declared that while the authorities may currently hold power, such oppression would ultimately collapse. He appealed to the public to raise their voices and support him against the injustices he faced.

Previously, Mr. Babaei had traveled to Tehran, seeking to stage a peaceful protest outside the Head of the Judicary's Office, where he demanded the release of political prisoners. Authorities confiscated his papers, barred him from holding any written materials, and prohibited him from taking photos or videos.

Mr. Babaei has a history of arrests, including by the IRGC Intelligence on April 10, 2022, Ministry of Intelligence on September 9, 2023, and again in February 2024. During these detentions, he was reportedly subjected to severe torture, resulting in serious injuries, including significant damage to his leg, which he had previously discussed in other videos.
