JD Vance, the Vice President, on the ballistic missiles of the terrorist Islamic Republic:
๐Ÿ“Œ All the President said yesterday is that, of course, countries do not give up their right to self-defense.

๐Ÿ‡ฎ๐Ÿ‡ฑ Israel does not give up its right to self-defense if Hezbollah fires rockets or drones at Israel.

Iranians do not give up their right to self-defense in their country, but we expect that as part of the final agreement, they will not be able to build missiles that can broadly threaten the whole world, and that is exactly what the President of the United States said yesterday.
๏ปฟ
And look, itโ€™s very simple: you cannot tell a country โ€” whether Israel or Iran โ€” that it does not have the right to self-defense.

๐Ÿ“Œ We hold all the cards.

If the Iranians want to benefit from the agreement, they must give us what is necessary to obtain those benefits.

๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ๐Ÿ”ดVice President J.D. Vance on Iran:

We did not see this as a big advantage for the Iranians, and honestly, the Iranians themselves did not see it as an advantage, because what was preventing their oil sales was not the sanctions.
They were selling a large amount of oil without any discount because the sanctions were essentially ineffective at that time.
The sanctions caused Iran's financial system to shift somewhat to a shadow banking system.

โ›”๏ธBy lifting the sanctions, we will actually be able to see a bit where their financial system sends money and where it receives money. This is a real advantage.

What I say to some critics of the agreement, those who say "Well, Iran will get all these benefits."โ—๏ธ

๐Ÿ’ก I repeat what I have said and probably need to say several times: What advantage do the Iranians gain that they did not have before? And the answer is none.

โš ๏ธ They gain nothing unless they change their behavior. If they change their behavior, that is something to celebrate.

๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ๐Ÿ”ดVice President J.D. Vance on Israel in Lebanon:

We talk with Bibi or someone in the Israeli government just as we talk almost every day with the Gulf coalition, our regional partners, at least at a high level of our government.
โ›”๏ธNo one can take away another country's right to self-defense โ€” Israel has the right to defend itself.

But essentially, Israelis, just like everyone else, must respect this peace process which is fundamentally good for themselves and the entire region.

๐Ÿ‘€โšก๏ธ It seems we are right on the verge of a major breakthrough in the agreement, and suddenly a large explosion occurs in a civilian population center in Beirut, killing many people who have no connection to Hezbollah.

๐Ÿšซ This is unacceptable. This is exactly why we have called for closer coordination to ensure that such a thing does not happen.

My message to the people in Bibiโ€™s government who are attacking Trump โ€“ donโ€™t attack the only leader in the world who supports you.

๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ๐Ÿ‡ฎ๐Ÿ‡ฑ โ€” WATCH: JD Vance attacks members of the Israeli government who criticized of the deal:

โ€œTrump is the only head of state in the entire world who is sympathetic to the nation of Israel at this moment in time.

If I was in the cabinet of the Israeli government, I might not be attacking the only powerful ally that I have anywhere left in the entire world.

Over the last three months, two-thirds of the defensive weapons that have protected Israel have been built by American hands and paid for by American tax dollars.

The problem for Israel is not Trump, and anybody in Israel who thinks their biggest problem is the President of the United States needs to wake up and smell the reality of the situation that country is in.โ€

Obama's nuclear deal allowed enrichment โ€” our deal does not allow that.
Obama's deal allowed the accumulation of weapons-grade material; our deal actually leads to the destruction of that enriched material stockpile.
Obama's deal gave them over a billion dollars of American money; this deal gives them no American dollars.

๐Ÿ’ฌ Whether these things are written or spoken, this is why we structured the deal we made, because we don't trust words. We trust actions and behavior.

Let's assume that two years from now, they have done what we need to see in the nuclear program and we lift the sanctions according to the agreement.
Then they decide to rebuild the nuclear program.
Of course, in that case, the sanctions will return.

โ›”๏ธThis really looks like a dial: the more they improve their behavior, the more economic facilities we can increase; if they reduce their good behavior, we can cut it off.

๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ Vice President J.D. Vance on the Iran agreement:

๐Ÿ”ด The fact is that we signed the memorandum of understanding on Sunday. This solidified the terms of the agreement.

๐Ÿ’ฌ The Iranians told us: "We prefer not to release the text until Friday." I really didnโ€™t understand this. I wanted to release the text immediately. But to cooperate with them, we said: "Okay, we will wait until Friday."

โŒ› And then during Monday and Tuesday, while President Trump was at the G7 summit, perhaps foreign leaders were talking to the Iranians and encouraging them to do this.

๐Ÿ’ฌ We definitely told them: "We understand your desire not to release the text until Friday, but you know we live in a democratic system. The American people want to see the text of this agreement. We definitely want to release it as soon as possible."

๐Ÿ“Œ So they decided that their president would sign it, our president would sign it, and then the text would be immediately released as a signed document.

๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ JD Vance, the Vice President, on Iran:

โš ๏ธ Currently, the Iranian nation has a population of about 94 million. Their economy is in free fall. They have very high inflation.

๐Ÿ“ˆ๐Ÿ’ฅ Basically, about one trillion dollars in damage has been done to their industrial base in the past three months.

โŒ The notion that selling a few million dollars of oil can fundamentally change Iran's economy is not correct.
