❗️Kolbar casualties in 2025; 70 Kolbars killed and injured 76% due to direct gunfire by military forces
According to statistics recorded by Kolbarnews, in the year 2025, a total of 70 #Kolbars in border areas and intercity routes of West #Azerbaijan, #Kurdistan, #Kermanshah, and beyond were killed or injured due to factors such as direct #gunfire by the regime’s military forces, #avalanches and freezing, traffic accidents, and other causes.
• Of this total, 32 kolbars (46%) were killed and 38 kolbars (54%) were injured.
• Of the 70 kolbars killed or injured in 2025, a total of 53 cases (76%) were the result of direct gunfire by military forces.
• Of the 70 kolbars killed or injured in 2025, a total of 3 kolbars (4%) were child kolbars under the age of 18; in one of these cases, the child kolbar was killed as a result of direct gunfire by Iraqi border forces (Haras al-Hudud).
• This data also includes one Baluch kolbar who suffered severe injuries after being set on fire by security forces.
Despite an 80% decrease in the total number of killed and injured kolbars in 2025 compared to 2024, the proportion of deaths out of total casualties increased from 17% to 46%. This change indicates a significant increase in the share of fatalities among total casualties and reflects the deadlier nature of incidents in 2025.
Including the figures for 2025, over the past seven years (2019 to 2025), a total of 1,686 kolbars have been killed or injured; of these, 1,319 individuals (78%) were injured and 367 individuals (22%) lost their lives. Additionally, of the total cases, 1,280 incidents (76%) occurred as a result of direct gunfire by military forces.
