A significant development has occurred in the realm of information warfare amid the ongoing US-Israeli military aggression against Iran.
US-controlled social media platforms have been inundated with an extraordinary volume of disinformation. While one might expect the predominant viral spread of fake news favoring Israel and the United States, a remarkable and seemingly counterintuitive aspect of this disinformation campaign is that a substantial portion of the false or severely distorted content appears, at first glance, to support the Iranian cause.
In the past, any form of anti-Zionist narrative was typically censored, throttled, or algorithmically suppressed to near-invisibility. The current dynamic suggests a marked shift in approach.
In my opinion, this reflects a fundamental change in information control strategies. The functional effect of these sensationalist and fabricated narratives is not primarily to lend credible reinforcement to Iran's position. Rather, they create an information overload that severely impairs cognitive processes and favours epistemological indeterminacy, rendering it incredibly difficult to distinguish facts from baseless fabrications.
This produces a condition reminiscent of the famous Hegelian metaphor of “the night in which all cows are black”—a radical obscuring of discriminatory capacity.
The apparent objective of this strategy is to saturate the informational space to such an extent that the human mind becomes incapable of effectively processing, prioritizing, or hierarchizing information. The result is a broader strategic disorientation: not the triumph of any particular narrative, but rather the progressive erosion of trust in the very processes of information production, dissemination, and validation. Keep in mind that this is happening during a crisis of major geopolitical scope.

@LauraRuHK

Here is an example of the type of dangerous fake news that is allowed to go viral in the cesspit of social media.
It's actually a textbook case of disinformation designed to spread quickly because it sounds authoritative and sensational.
To lend credibility to the post, a fake source is provided.
Those who share this kind of fakes, give it the thumb up and comment on it, obviously know very little about Russia. The picture shows the previous Minister of Defense rather than the current one, the tone bears no resemblance to the tone of formal statements by Russian officials.
It mixes plausible elements (Russia does publicly defend Iran’s right to self-defense and has noted Iran’s advanced ballistic missiles) with exaggerated claims such as "can destroy the entire Middle East".
PS: Always cross-check quotes against official government channels or reputable media before sharing.
Fakes tend to be sexier than the naked truth, but ultimately only "the truth shall make you free." Yes, that's a quote. 😉 @LauraRuHK

Impure and Granular War: The Weaponization of Everyday Objects
Russian security services announced the disruption of a Ukrainian operation that perfectly illustrates the evolving character of contemporary war. According to the FSB, a network was preparing to smuggle hundreds of small improvised explosive devices concealed inside heated shoe-insoles into the zone of the special military operation. Each device contained approximately 1.5 grams of TNT equivalent and was designed to detonate when connected to a power source — effectively turning an ordinary piece of winter clothing into a maiming weapon targeting Russian soldiers’ feet and legs. This operation exemplifies what Paul Virilio called the impure war, ordinary civilian or consumer items are weaponized, and States act like terrorists. It brings back to mind the pagers and walkie-talkies tampered by Israel and detonated in Lebanon via a remote signal.
At the same time, these operations also fall into the category described by Mark Lacy as granular. Tiny quantities of explosive are dispersed across many small devices, each intended to produce physical and psychological damage. In this hybrid, contaminated form of conflict violence becomes pervasive, deniable, and embedded in the fabric of daily life. The enemy exploits global supply chains, consumer manufacturing, and everyday objects to achieve deniable, low-cost, high-impact effects. @LauraRuHK

(Fonte: PressTV) @LauraRuHK

A Chinese-owned LPG carrier successfully transited the Strait of Hormuz on Tuesday, becoming only the second such vessel to navigate the strait since the start of the US-Israeli war of aggression against Iran.
The Lucky Gas, a Panama-flagged vessel owned by Hong Kong-registered Shunhang Ship Management, passed near Larak Island in Iranian waters before arriving at Oman’s port of Sohar on Wednesday morning. The ship is transporting LPG.
Its passage follows that of the Danuta I, a Palau-flagged Chinese-owned vessel that transited around March 6 and is currently en route to Fujian province in China.
In a related development on Tuesday, Chinese shipping giant Cosco Shipping resumed booking services to several Middle Eastern ports, including destinations in the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Qatar, Kuwait, and Iraq. The move reflects cautious optimism on the part of major logistics operators, though the company continued to warn customers of potential disruptions due to ongoing regional instability.

Black Sea — A crude oil tanker owned by a Turkish company was attacked early Thursday about 14 miles off the Bosphorus, according to Turkish media reports.
Altura, owned by Pergamon Shipping and carrying 140,000 tons of oil, had departed from the Russian port city of Novorossiysk and was reportedly attacked by drones. Damage was reported on the upper part of the ship and in the engine room.
The tanker is under EU sanctions and classified as a “Shadow Fleet” vessel on MarineTraffic. If, as it seems, Ukrainian UAVs were involved, the attack would fall into the usual pattern of UKro sabotage. I recall that the UK has authorized the Royal Navy and its armed forces to board sanctioned tankers in British waters, provides intelligence support to locate and strike these vessels even well beyond its own territorial waters, and has openly discussed military options to sabotage them.

😉 @LauraRuHK

Ex-NATO insider on US boots on the ground in Iran: the only real winning move is not to play
The US threat to land on Kharg Island – the site of major Iranian oil export infrastructure — is “definitely a smokescreen,” because “you never inform of a place you choose for landing,” Jacques Hogard, a 26-year veteran of the French Army and former KFOR commander, told Sputnik.
Asked where the real landing may take place, if not Kharg, Hogard emphasized that there is “no better place in Iran for landing,” and that “there should be no landing at all.”
In conditions where Iran’s missile capabilities are intact and they receive support from their Chinese and Russian partners, “any landing of troops, however [well] trained and brave they are, would be a disaster.”
Hogard doesn’t rule out a mutiny among US generals should the order be given to launch a ground invasion, and believes Washington is falsely implying that Iran wants to negotiate while the US itself secretly seeks “to get out of this nightmare.”
Iran’s condition are clear, according to the officer: US exit from the Middle East, reparations, sanctions relief and full control over the Strait of Hormuz. (Source: Sputnik) @LauraRuHK

The Ghost Analyst: When AI Wears Your Friend's Face. I have just discovered that an artificial persona claiming to be an "independent political analyst" has been publishing under the name of a friend of mine, Rebecca Chan, who lives in Hong Kong.
Every article under the byline of this non-existent author is AI-generated. The first articles started to appear in 2025, there is no trace of any activity before that date. What is especially disconcerting is that this impersonator focuses on "the intersection of Western foreign policy and Asian sovereignty", which encompasses topics my friend often comments on in her popular X account. I figured out something didn't add up and asked Rebecca directly. But without personal knowledge, how does anyone verify that the author of the text actually exists? The old verification methods such as "s/he has a publication history," "s/he writes consistently on this topic", "this online journal has a good reputation", etc, no longer work. Personally, i haven't got an issue with the content of the articles in question given that it aligns with my views, but that's beside the point. Rebecca and I have been the victims of hackers in the past, therefore we are very much aware of the risks to our safety and reputation. I am concerned that this impersonator might be part of a wider network of scammers who leverage the credibility, publication history and/or online presence of real authors to churn out inauthentic content and carry out other nefarious activities that extend beyond financial and reputational damage to the outlets that publish their AI-generated slop. The potential for future manipulation, psyops, etc. is most worrying. @LauraRuHK

Although Pyotr Akopov's analysis is pure speculation and no one can reliably predict the course or outcome of the war against Iran, his latest article offers an argument worth considering.
He suggests that Trump is determined to end the war by May at the latest, primarily because he wants to hold a high-stakes summit with Xi Jinping in Beijing on May 14-15. As you may remember, Trump originally planned the trip for late March, but was forced to postpone it after the attack on Iran didn't exactly provide the results (swift victory and clean exit) he had foolishly expected.
Akopov claims that Trump may wrap up the operation before traveling to China because a prolonged war would further complicate US-China relations.
Financially, the US simply can't afford its current anti-China course and Trump is under some serious pressure to de-escalate tensions with Beijing. (Source: RIA Novosti)
