Hadi al-Amiri, leader of Iraq’s Badr Organization and a senior commander in the Iran-aligned Popular Mobilization Forces (PMF), has urged Iraqi armed factions to postpone retaliation for U.S.-Saudi strikes on militia sites.

The July 29 strikes hit seven locations across Iraq, including Baghdad, Basra, Wasit, Nineveh, Kirkuk, Karbala and Diyala, targeting militia facilities and weapons sites.

The PMF said 20 fighters were killed and 32 wounded.

The factions later delayed their planned response following appeals from al-Amiri and other Iraqi officials.

Today, 38 years ago, Iraq declared victory in their eight year war against Iran

📌The war's final months were marked with the second battle of fow and the tawaklna ala allah operations which saw the destruction of dozens of iranian brigades with hundreds of thousands of casualties and thousands of armored fighting vehicles destroyed aswell as the explusion of the Iranian military from Iraqi territory.

📌The war ended with the systematic weakening of the Iranian military and their stockpile of pre-revolutionary arms, a conventional capability that they had announced publicly to aim using against the Iraqi and Gulf governments.

📌For the last 38 years, Iran has been unable to rebuild their conventional capacities and have been forced to redirect their ressources to build missiles and drones.

Morocco’s government, alongside private conservation groups that have wanted this for years, plans to restore extinct wildlife, including the Atlas lion, which disappeared from the wild in Morocco around the 1940s, and other native species.

These goals were limited by extreme drought, deforestation, and the loss of rivers and habitats. Since 2020, large-scale reforestation projects have accelerated, and increased rainfall will now make broader wildlife restoration more feasible.

Kazakhstan has already begun a similar rewilding effort, releasing the first Turan tigers into restored habitat.

Head of the Iraqi Border Ports Authority:

The Prime Minister wants the Rabia border crossing (located in the Al-Yaari area, in the countryside of Hasakah, on the Syrian side) to be the most important border crossing in Iraq, as it represents a vital transit point between Turkey, Syria, and Iraq.

The crossing is experiencing a higher volume of trade and oil tankers compared to other crossings, despite only being open for a few months.

We emphasize the need to increase transit traffic to 300 vehicles and over 1000 oil tankers per day.
