Home Affairs and immigration Minister Tony Burke has appeared on an Indian podcast.
He argues that more immigration is the solution to Australia’s housing shortage, claims “we can’t build the houses we need without more immigration.”
Burke also says he “doesn’t believe in guest-workers”, and wants all immigrants in Australia of whatever status to “fully participate in Democracy” (read: vote), regardless of citizenship.

🇵🇸 Israel seizes over 60 percent of Gaza with new 'Orange Line': Report | The Cradle
The Israeli army (#IOF)has quietly expanded its ‘Yellow Line’ in #Gaza via new maps issued to aid groups recently – setting up an additional ‘Orange Line’ which effectively brings 64 percent of the besieged strip under military control, according to a 29 April Reuters report.
The new line makes up around 11 percent of Gaza’s territory beyond the ‘Yellow Line,’ the report says. “The areas cordon off nearly two-thirds of Gaza's territory in total,” it explains.
“Israel's military sent the maps to aid groups in Gaza in mid-March, but has not released them publicly,” two aid sources told Reuters.
Tel Aviv claims the area is a restricted zone aimed at enabling aid deliveries, and that while aid groups must coordinate with the Israeli army, civilians will be “unaffected.”
Yet thousands of displaced civilians reside in the area within Israel’s new boundary.

So according to the government's logic he is both Islamophobic and Antisemitic? Or is he perhaps just a case of a psychiatric patient wrongly released from a psychiatric hospital too early?

"Essa Suleiman, 45, lashed out at Ishmael Hussein who managed to fend off the blows at his home in Southwark, Westminster magistrates court heard. Somalia born Suleiman then went to north London to attack Shloime Rand, 34 and Moshe Shine, 76."
Suleiman appears to have attacked at least one Muslim and two Jews on the same day. This further questions antisemitism as his only motive. To me it's clear it's a mental health case above any claim of "terrorism"
Terrorism means the motive needs to be political not psychiatric. He was released from a psychiatric hospital. This means he was admitted to one as a psychiatric case. The motive appears to be psychiatric above political. This is how we use language, specific to the meaning of the words.
We live in such a propagandised society that when a psychiatric patient goes on the rampage attacking people of different religions each side is desperate to score political points. The sad reality is that mental health care is a casualty of the post Covid engineered collapse of the NHS.

Cuba can now refine its own oil thanks to a breakthrough of the Hermanos Diaz oil refinery in the city of Santiago de #Cuba using thermoconversion technology developed by the #Oil Research Center and presented to the National Innovation Council by President Miguel Diaz-Canel.
Havana has 20 billion barrels of oil reserves, which is enough to power the whole country for many decades. Despite this, they were unable to refine it.
But now they have developed their own sovereign technology that would allow them to refine their own domestic crude oil reserves and not have to rely on buying it from countries like Venezuela, Mexico, and Russia/Soviet Union. The island has essentially become energy independent.
And the greatest of all, with the introduction of this new method along with the supply of Russian energy, the power that the US has exerted over Cuba with the oil blockade has been significantly diminished.

As of late April 2026, the construction around the top of North Korea has become a fully integrated, high-capacity logistics mesh designed to keep #Pyongyang both functional and tethered. It looks like preparation for integrating North #Korea into China’s economy.
This makes sense because North Korea has the last large pool of cheap labor on Earth. This strategy will also give China greater access to the Pacific. We can think of North Korea as an island, even though it is really a very large peninsula (thus proving my point that islands and peninsulas are the most important places now. But the depth of the construction suggests that China seeks to make it not only an industrial hub but also a critical element of its geostrategic presence.
