🇵🇸They’re Launching A New COINTELPRO For The 21st Century | Caitlin Johnstone
The Trump administration has announced a renewed crusade against “far-left terrorism,” which sounds okay if you don’t know that the word “terrorism” only ever means “behavior which goes against the agendas of the western empire.”
The United States has for example placed sanctions on UN special rapporteur Francesca Albanese for calling attention to Israeli atrocities in Gaza, justifying the move by claiming the human rights expert has “expressed support for terrorism”. In the UK, police have been arresting people on terrorism charges just for holding signs which say “I oppose genocide, I support Palestine Action”.
The designation has nothing to do with actual acts of terrorism as the average westerner conceives of that notion. In 2024 the US government removed its $10 million bounty on former Al Qaeda leader Ahmed al-Sharaa (AKA Abu Mohammad al-Jolani) because he facilitated Washington’s regime change agendas in Syria, where he is now the sitting president. You can literally be a leader in the most notorious terrorist network on earth and still see that designation disappear into thin air as soon as you start assisting the geostrategic ambitions of the empire.

Iraq Warned Syria Against Attacking Lebanon’s Hezbollah
Syrian President Ahmad al-Sharaa was given a pointed piece of “advice” by the Iraqi government to stay away from Lebanon, Al-Akhbar reported on July 18.
The Iraqi warning comes as the United States and Saudi Arabia keep pressing Syria to take an active role against Hezbollah.
According to the Lebanese news outlet, Iraqi officials told Damascus that “any Syrian involvement in the Lebanese arena would have direct repercussions on Syria itself,” and made clear that Baghdad would not simply watch from the sidelines “should the Shia community in Lebanon or Hezbollah face any threat originating from Syrian territory, Iraqi resistance factions will not stand idle.”
The line drawn by Baghdad was explicit: “every Syrian step toward Lebanon could be followed by an Iraqi step toward Syria.”

We found that former Member of the European Parliament Stelios Kouloglou was hacked with Pegasus spyware while serving on the PEGA committee, which investigated Pegasus and other spyware abuses in Europe.
Through forensic analysis of his device, we found that the attackers could have had access to confidential documents and committee deliberations."https://t.me/pegasus_nso_n_other_spyware/52

The Pentagon is purchasing mass-produced, low-cost, precision-guided munitions for a major war.
Under the Family of Affordable Mass Missiles (FAMM) program, the US Department of War this week signed agreements with Anduril for its Barracuda-500 missile, CoAspire for its RAACM (Rapidly Adaptable Affordable Cruise Missile), and Zone 5 Technologies for the Rusty Dagger missile. The agreement aims to create a stockpile of mass-produced, low-cost, precision-guided munitions for a major war, for use in the European, Middle Eastern, and Indo-Pacific theaters of operations.
▪️ Ukraine will be the first to test these weapons in a war with Russia. As early as October, it is expected to receive the first batches of missiles for F-16 and MiG-29 fighters under the ERAM (Extended Range Attack Munition) program: the AGM-188A Rusty Dagger from Zone 5 and the RAACM from CoAspire. It's also worth noting that the US Army is developing its Low-Cost Containerized Missiles (LCCM) program to create affordable ground-launched missiles. Agreements have been signed for the supply of missiles for testing from Anduril, CoAspire, Leidos, and Zone 5. Additionally, a two-year contract has been signed with the startup Castelion for a minimum annual purchase of 500 Blackbeard hypersonic missiles, currently under development, with funding for the acquisition of more than 12,000 Blackbeard missiles over five years.
Russia faces the obvious challenge of advancing the development of its air defense/missile defense system and implementing similar strike capabilities - Elena Panina, Director of the Institute of Russian Strategic Studies
