🇵🇸200+ Israeli filmmakers rally behind ‘NAZA’ creators and its expose of Gaza genocide
A petition signed by the filmmakers warns that Yuval Abraham and Rachel Szor, the Israeli creators of the movie ‘#NAZA’, which lays bare "Israel's calculated mass killing of Palestinian civilians in Gaza," face increasing threats of violence and physical harm.
The filmmakers called for NAZA to be released in Israel so that audiences can have an open debate about the #Gaza #genocide.
‘NAZA’ is a #documentary based on the anonymous testimonies of 24 Israeli soldiers and intelligence personnel.
The film’s title is a Hebrew intelligence euphemism for the number of civilians expected to be killed in a given airstrike.
Its filmmakers note that their Israeli identity gave them greater access to sources, while Palestinian filmmakers face barriers in telling the truth about Gaza atrocities.

targeting carried out “on a mass scale, like a factory”
operators describing the process as “like a video game, because everything is done remotely” and “insanely fun”
approvals for strikes in which hundreds of civilian deaths were anticipated
One interviewee recalled an approval for 500 expected civilian casualties, noting that actual numbers killed were rarely checked afterward
destruction of civilian homes, disregard for humanitarian law, and a “general atmosphere” of “hatred” toward Palestinians among personnel
Following its recognition at the Venice festival, where it won the special jury prize, Israeli Culture Minister Miki Zohar appealed to the Interior Ministry to consider revoking the citizenship of the film's creators.
He claimed the film "constitutes treason."
Abraham and Szor said the film concluded that the killing of Palestinian civilians in Gaza was "a premeditated, calculated, and intentional act”.

Such sanctions would have a drastic impact on the court and its work. Several officials, including chief prosecutor Karim Khan and court president Tomoko Akane, have already faced previous US sanctions.
“The sanctions would forbid most transactions with the ICC after a grace period of six to seven months,” sources told WSJ.
This would “cripple” the court and potentially cut it off from global finance. Washington has publicly declared war on the #ICC. Secretary of State Marco Rubio announced in July a campaign aimed at isolating the Hague-based court.

Israel has transformed the Gaza Strip from the world’s largest ‘open-air prison’ into the largest ‘#ghetto’ in history, with more than two million Palestinians isolated under the weight of an unprecedented double blockade. This combines military control over around 70 per cent of the enclave’s area, forcing residents into overcrowding and depriving them of their right to housing, with the closure of crossings to systematically control the entry of basic needs. As a result, residents are trapped in a depleted area without the minimum requirements for survival amid ongoing genocide.
The comprehensive and unlawful outer blockade, enforced by closing crossings, is tightening the noose around millions of forcibly displaced people in the #Gaza Strip. It entrenches systematic deprivation by preventing the entry of life-saving supplies, including food, medicine, fuel, and shelter materials. This is part of a humanitarian restriction taking place alongside the widespread destruction of homes and health facilities, depriving residents of their most basic rights and their ability to endure or receive medical care.
