๐ต๐ธ A long and precarious journey to play soccer | The Electronic Intifada
Yousef Jubran, 12, has had a unique passion for soccer since he was very young.
Every day, he spends hours playing football. He rarely lets the ball leave his feet. When he walks from one room to another, he often dribbles the ball with him.
He is a member of a club, and trains four times a week. He keeps a notebook of soccer moves, best shots and tactics. His wardrobe is full of football jerseys, and his roomโs walls are covered with pictures of his favorite team, Spainโs Real Madrid, and his favorite player, Cristiano Ronaldo.
I know all this because Yousef is my son. We spend nights talking about all this.
But nothing is straightforward, even for a football-crazy boy, when you live under military #occupation.
