An update about deblob alipay ifaa and tencent soter biometric authorization (IFAA support both fingerprint and iris authorization for now btw).

Removing all of proprietary files in system which comes from OxygenOS will cause significant lags on app start. see this

Seems just deblob the modem and remove IFAAService+SoterService apk won’t cause such lag.

For removing these proprietary file without performance drop, maybe the only solution is removing them at build time. This really sucks.

Vodacom partners with China's Alipay to create 'super app' in South Africa

JOHANNESBURG (Reuters) - Vodacom Group (VODJ.J) plans to create a ‘super app’ in partnership with digital payment provider Alipay, part of China’s Alibaba group (BABA.N), to allow consumers in South Africa to shop online, pay bills and send money to family from next year.

The app will also help small to medium enterprises (SME) access financial services such as lending and insurance, the two companies said in a joint statement on Monday.

Vodacom and other mobile operators in South Africa are seeking to expand their mobile payment apps into online market places to leverage their network and customer base.

They are also looking to tap more than 11 million South Africans who do not have bank accounts, to offer lending and other financial services.

Alipay allows pet owners to buy insurance by using facial recognition on their cats and dogs

Pet insurance has existed for a while, but it often involves filling out boring paper forms and taking a trip to the vet to implant a microchip in their furry friends. China’s e-payment giant Alipay has another idea.
The platform, run by Ant Financial – an affiliate of South China Morning Post owner Alibaba – has launched its first ever insurance program for cats and dogs. Enrolment is simple: Using the Alipay app, owners can set up a digital profile of their animals by taking a few pictures.
A close-up photo of the animal is used to establish a record of its nose print. Similar to how smartphones and law enforcement agencies use fingerprints to identify humans, dogs and cats are believed to have unique and permanent skin patterns on their noses.

Exclusive: Urged on by central bank, China weighs antitrust probe into Alipay, WeChat Pay - sources

SINGAPORE/HONG KONG (Reuters) - China’s top antitrust agency is looking at whether to launch a probe into Alipay and WeChat Pay, prompted by the central bank which argues the digital payment giants have used their dominant positions to quash competition, sources with knowledge of the matter said.

The State Council’s anti-trust committee has been gathering information on Alipay, owned by Ant Group which in turn is an affiliate of Alibaba Group Holding Ltd (BABA.N), as well as on Tencent Holdings Ltd’s (0700.HK) WeChat Pay for more than a month, they said.

Any investigation would likely dampen enthusiasm for Ant Group’s planned dual listing in Hong Kong and Shanghai that is seeking a valuation of more than $200 billion.
