Kobo e-ink ebook readers

They seem to be running a preinstalled Linux that also supports to install more software, like better ebook readers Koreader and Plato

Now this model called Kobo Clara HD (and maybe others later?) got support to install other Linux versions like Postmarket OS. This is good news for customization and against planned obsolescence. But don't install other operating system for now unless you want to investigate. There's still improvements to be made like touch buttons user interface and more software, although there's an ebook reader already ported to postmarketOS

These devices have a removable SD card that can be upgraded or replaced for a bigger and faster one if you open them. Remember to backup the original SD card partitions, it is required to clone it for the screen to work in other Linux distributions
