META SUSPENDS IRANS SUPREME LEADER
Meta has suspended the Instagram accounts of Iran’s Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei following lobbying by pro-Israel groups.
Khamenei’s English-language Instagram account had more than 204,000 followers and his Persian account had 5.1 million followers.
"We have removed these accounts for repeatedly violating our Dangerous Organizations & Individuals policy," a Meta spokesperson said.
Khamenei has not been banned from Elon Musk’s Twitter/X, although some of his tweets have been found to violate the site’s rules.
