๐ปOne should oppose his or her good desires for better desires.
๐ธWhenever you decide to do a valuable action, you must overlook one of your interests. That is why, the Commander of the Faithful, Ali (as), said, โAll sins are accompanied by desires, and all acts of obedience are accompanied by feelings of aversion and hardship.โ With this design that the Almighty God has created within us, He has brought the opportunity for us to be tested. So if we resist our desires and bad interests, activate our good interests, and taste the enjoyment of good interests, we will live happily, right? No!
๐ธOne must oppose his or her good desires for better desires! Many religious people have a problem in this area! Imam Husayn (as) loved his son, Ali Akbar, and he had to sacrifice him. And Prophet Ibrahim (as) loved Ismail (as) but he had to sacrifice his Ismail.
๐ธThis is because the way to test a personโs internal being is to see if he will ignore an interest. One should oppose his or her good desires for better desires! This struggle continues until the last moments of our lives.
๐ธCongratulations on Eid al-Adha!
๐๐ผ [Letโs not forget the needy in our community on this day too, because Prophet Muhammad (as) said, โEid al-Adha has been designed so that (by sacrificing animals) the hunger of the needy among you may be satisfied with this meat, so feed them with meat.โ [Thawab al-Amal, p. 59]]
