🔸What was Imam Reza’s (‘a) special mission?
🔻When we hear the honorable name of #Imam_Reza (‘a), what is the most important feature of this Imam that should come to our mind? What was his special mission?
🔻Among all the Imams, Imam Reza (‘a) conveyed the most explicit messages about #Imamate and #Guardianship to the people. We can say he was the “great caller to Imamate and Guardianship.” In some ways, his invitation to Guardianship was the most overt.
🔻When Imam Reza (‘a) felt the opportunity was right and the people had some capacity to become familiar with the concepts of Imamate and Guardianship, he did not work on concepts such as praying, fasting, worshiping or morals. Instead, he went straight to the main subject and talked about the most important religious concept, Guardianship. An outstanding example of this is the “Silsilah al-Dhahab Tradition.”
🔻The “Silsilah al-Dhahab Tradition” is the historical document highlighting the special #mission of Imam Reza in inviting people to Imamate. In this tradition, the Imam (‘a) said, “I heard from my father Musa bin Ja’far, and he heard from his fathers, and they heard from the Prophet, that he heard from the angel Gabriel, that he heard from God, that God said, ‘La Illah Illa Allah (There is no god except Allah) is My strong fortress. Whoever enters it will be safe from My punishment.’” After the Imam’s caravan had started to move forward, the Imam called out to the people saying, “Of course, there are some conditions to this, and I am one of those conditions.” [Uyun Akhbar al-Reza, vol. 2, p. 135]
🔻This means if a person says, “There is no god except Allah,” this will be accepted from him and he will be safe from divine punishment, but with some conditions. And, Imam Reza (‘a) is one of the conditions for it being accepted.
🌸Congratulations on the anniversary of the birth of Imam Reza (‘a)!
