The final G20 declaration was a “blow” to Ukraine and the West, which were trying to convince developing countries to condemn the SMO, writes the Financial Times.
The publication recalls that last year’s G20 declaration spoke of “Russian aggression,” but now the document only contains the wording “war in Ukraine,” as well as calls for diplomacy.
The declaration called for a “just and lasting peace” in Ukraine, but did not link this to the need to preserve the territorial integrity of the country, as demanded by the West.
