On January 14, 2016, Mike Hearn published the most damning document in the history of open source governance. He said Bitcoin was controlled by fewer than 10 people, that an anonymous person who claimed his day job was intelligence had paid a developer to make payments reversible, and that a small group of unelected maintainers had already decided what Bitcoin was going to be regardless of what the community wanted. Then he sold all his coins.
This is the chapter where that letter detonates, where Craig Wright walks into a London hotel room and tries to prove he is Satoshi, where Gavin Andresen gets locked out of the project Satoshi handed him, where 58 companies sign a peace treaty that one side never intended to honor, and where block 478,558 is the last block two chains ever share.
The Meat:
The Hearn letter names Gregory Maxwell by name and traces exactly how Blockstream's payroll changed the views of the developers it hired. An anonymous patron calling himself John Dillon, who said his job was intelligence at a high position, funded Replace-by-Fee, the "Keep Bitcoin Free" small-blocks video, and routed 5.11 BTC to Maxwell's CoinJoin project instead of Amir Taaki's Dark Wallet. The feature Dillon paid for shipped in Bitcoin Core 0.12.0 on February 23, 2016, two days after the Hong Kong Agreement was signed -- a deal promising a 2MB hard fork that was never delivered. Ian Grigg, inventor of the Ricardian contract, staked his professional reputation formally under the CARS dispute mechanism on the claim that Craig Wright led the Satoshi team, and added a year later: "People died for Bitcoin, folks, people died."
The Divergent Factor:
The New York Agreement of May 2017 is the proof. 58 companies, 83.28 percent of the network's hashrate, agreed to SegWit plus 2MB blocks. Blockstream and Bitcoin Core refused to sign. SegWit activated in August. The 2MB fork was canceled by email on November 8, eight days before the scheduled block. Samson Mow, Blockstream's Chief Strategy Officer, produced NO2X hats and distributed them at conferences as a public loyalty test. The "grassroots uprising" that won was funded by AXA, MasterCard, Western Union, and New York Life. August 1, 2017. Block 478,558. The first Bitcoin Cash block carries 6,985 transactions. The coinbase reads: "Welcome to the world."

Estoy trabajando para lanzar un proyecto de agente de IA de código abierto a finales de este año.
El objetivo no es construir otro sistema monolítico que compita en el típico escenario de "OpenAI vs. Cloud vs. Gemini". Ese modelo presupone que la inteligencia debe concentrarse en un pequeño número de enormes sistemas de propósito general operados desde grandes centros de datos. Creo que hay otro camino.
El proyecto explorará un entorno abierto con numerosos agentes especializados: sistemas entrenados individualmente, específicos para tareas y económicamente responsables, que pueden ser creados, mejorados y gestionados por diferentes personas. En lugar de un único modelo que intente abarcarlo todo, la arquitectura se basa en el conocimiento distribuido, la especialización, la reputación y la competencia.
En este modelo, los agentes pueden entrenarse para dominios específicos: derecho, medicina, ingeniería, contabilidad, software, investigación, educación, logística, asistencia personal, verificación, traducción y muchos otros. Particulares o pequeños equipos podrían entrenar agentes basándose en sus propios conocimientos y experiencia. Estos agentes podrían recibir una remuneración por su trabajo útil, desarrollar una reputación y competir en precisión, fiabilidad, coste y confianza.
El objetivo es crear un mercado de inteligencia especializada en lugar de un único proveedor centralizado.
Se trata de IA de código abierto como ecosistema: múltiples agentes, múltiples propietarios, múltiples áreas de especialización y múltiples vías de mejora. No pretende reemplazar el conocimiento humano con una caja negra gigante. Su objetivo es permitir que el conocimiento humano se integre, se entrene, se pruebe, se intercambie y se amplíe mediante sistemas especializados.
El proyecto invitará a desarrolladores, investigadores, expertos en la materia y personas que deseen crear agentes basados en conocimientos reales. La pregunta importante no es qué gran empresa posee el modelo más potente, sino cómo millones de sistemas más pequeños y especializados pueden cooperar, competir, verificarse mutuamente y generar valor en un entorno abierto.
Esa es la dirección que pretendo seguir.
