La Reserva Federal de EE. UU. paró las subidas de los tipos de interés, deteniéndose por primera vez después de 10 subidas de tipos de interés consecutivas desde marzo de 2022.
Sin embargo, la FED espera dos alzas más para finales de 2023, con una expectativa promedio de 5,6% para finales de año. Suponiendo que el comité se mueva en incrementos de un cuarto de punto, eso implicaría dos aumentos más en las cuatro reuniones restantes de este año.
Los miembros de la Reserva Federal también dieron sus pronósticos para los años futuros, anticipando una tasa de fondos federales de 4,6% en 2024 y 3,4% en 2025. Eso supera las proyecciones respectivas de 4,3% y 3,1% en marzo, cuando se actualizó por última vez el Resumen de proyecciones económicas.
Las lecturas sugieren que la FED podría comenzar a recortar las tasas, en un punto porcentual completo en 2024 si se mantiene la perspectiva de este año.
