The total money supply is not only Bitcoin, but all money. If there is a substitute, then this is a part of the money supply. The scarcity of Bitcoin to price is a function of use.

In economics, this was the issue that Ricardo and Marx never grasped, that
is, the diamond/water paradox. The fact that something is scarce is not enough to make it valuable. There are small vineyards who produce under
1% of the amount of wine made by Moet and yet, some of these earn under 0.75 Euro a bottle. Clearly, being scarce does not help increase the price of something that has little use."

Omni and WHC do not require Bitcoin.

They do in one sense—WHC uses Bitcoin in the same manner a Vampire uses the host. It consumes it.

Nodes in Wormhole sit as a separate layer using a separate token from Bitcoin. They do not require Bitcoin at all, they require time stamping and
an ordering system. To work, any system that allows for the time stamping of blocks is enough. It sits above Bitcoin and is not Bitcoin.

The problem with Omni comes from reordering. Any Omni-based system is subject to attacks either as zero conf attacks or if blocks are reordered through orphaning. This is not a problem for Bitcoin; orphans and
reordering are the natural state within Bitcoin. These are how miners signal."

¿Bitcoin (BTC) resulta sostenible a largo plazo? -

Si en la cadena de bloques de BTC solo caben en un bloque de 1 ó 2 Mb, un numero determinado de transacciones y los mineros obtienen su beneficio por:
A - Por las fees de todas las transacciones que caben en dicho bloque (digamos que tienen un beneficio fijo, salvo que aumente el precio del btc)

B- Otro incentivo que tienen los mineros es el reward del coinbase y éste disminuye a la mitad cada 4 años (Halving, se le llama a la distribución de moneda nueva, que está programado que se reduzca a la mitad, los incentivos de moneda nueva, por cada cierre de bloque, hasta llegar a los 21 millones en el año 2140 aproximadamente)

Entonces salvo que el precio aumente suficiente, los mineros tendrán unas ganancias mermadas cada dia peor (creo que hasta aquí, no soy yo el dueño de ésta reflexión)

Solución: si el precio no aumenta, pero aumenta el número de transacciones ONCHAIN en los bloques, los mineros pueden hacer rentable su trabajo.

Adicionalmente: los mineros migran a la blockchain que mas benefio les de, si una blockchain pierde mineros, pierde hash power y si pierde HP, entonces es mas susceptible a recibir un ataque del 51% por algún pull con mucho HP, y por tanto el mercado ve el riesgo y también se va el precio, es una acción que va en cadena.
