Yesterday I spoke in support of Senator Babets motion to hold an inquiry into excess deaths.

Overall deaths in Australia this year will come in under just 190,000 deaths, up from around 164,000 in 2019 and 171,000 in 2021.

While it is claimed half of the increase is from Covid, (this is dubious as the majority of these had chronic comorbidities) there around 10,000 deaths (assuming the Covid ones weren't related to the V) that are unexplained.

The Question needs to be asked why didn't the V stop deaths from Covid as promised by the experts. Whatever ever happened to 92% protection?

The subsequent vote only went down by one this morning. We are making progress.

“Families of aged care residents say they are shocked after being told they are being impacted by the closure of three homes, giving them until the end of May to find a new place for their loved ones to live. Wesley Mission is closing its three remaining aged care homes in Sylvania, Carlingford and Narrabeen by the end of next month. Nearly 200 residents will be impacted. CEO Reverand Stu Cameron said the difficulty of finding workers and the government implementing staff ratio requirements has forced the closures. The federal government is reforming aged care by hiring registered nurses to work in homes 24 hours a day, seven days a week by July 1. The latest federal health department data for June to September 2022 suggests more than 66 per cent of aged care providers failed to make a profit.”

Albanese was warned that mandating nursing homes to employ nurses 24 hours a day would force them to close down.

Sick people belong in hospitals. Nursing homes are not hospitals. Hospitals are flat out finding nurses so where exactly does Albanese expect nursing homes to find them.

This is just more buck passing by state governments who don’t want to do their job and care for the sick.

The worst example of this was when Dan Andrews refused to hospitalise aged care residents with Covid in August 2020 and instead left them to die in aged care homes.
