📈 Wages, Consumer Spending Booms in Russia Despite Western Sanctions – FT

Real wages in Russia have grown by almost 14%, and the consumption of goods and services by around 25%, according to Rosstat.

A further bump in real wages of up to 3.5% is forecasted this year, alongside an expected 3% jump in real disposable income, according to Russia’s Center for Macroeconomic Analysis and Short-Term Forecasting.

The unemployment rate, forecast to hit between 7 and 8% in 2022, is at just 2.6% - a record post-Soviet low.

Israeli FM Israel Katz has claimed that Tehran is at fault for the Olympic rail arson attacks.

The findings increased the value of ammunition, missiles and other equipment sent to Ukraine to $8.2bn, a US govt report has revealed.

In 2023, the Pentagon said staff used "replacement value" instead of "depreciated value" to tabulate the billions in materials sent to Ukraine.

Russian intel had detected a covert Ukrainian operation in the works against Moscow and contacted Austin to see if Washington was aware of the plot.

The US def sec informed Moscow he had no knowledge - before contacting the Ukrainian regime to put a stop to it.
