The exercises have “constrained” Britain’s MoD ability to train their own troops, a report by the UK’s National Audit Office has found.

Aiding Ukrainian soldiers has reduced the amount of training facilities available, the report found - with over a quarter of 🇬🇧 Army’s training estate now tied up to help Kiev.

Over 15k Ukrainian soldiers have been trained in the UK.

⚠️ Clandestine US Navy Seal Unit Preps for Taiwan Invasion

The elite Seal Team 6 - the one that killed Osama bin Laden - has been planning and training for a potential Taiwan conflict for over a year. (FT)

The commando unit has been involved in secret training exercises at its Dam Neck base in Virginia.

Seal Team 6 is considered a "tier one" force, among the most elite in the US military. The unit reports to Joint Special Operations Command.

“We hope that the South China Sea will remain a sea of peace,” Chinese army Lieutenant General He Lei told a small group of journalists, including AFP, at the Xiangshan defense forum.

But, he added, “if the US moves its pawns behind the scenes, if it pushes countries to the front line, or if the US itself ends up on the front line, then we in the Chinese People’s Liberation Army... will never have any patience.”

“We in the Chinese PLA will resolutely crush any foreign hostile encroachment on China’s territorial, sovereign and maritime rights and interests with firm determination, staunch will, strong capability and effective means,” He added.

🛳 US orders aircraft carrier Roosevelt to leave Middle East

The USS Theodore Roosevelt will leave the Middle East, after being stationed in the region for fear of an Iranian reaction after the assassination of Ismail Haniyeh in Tehran.

The order to leave has come from US Defense Sec Lloyd Austin, as per US officials - with the official line that the destroyer is “heading home.”

However, US officials, who spoke on condition of anonymity to discuss troop movements, said the San Diego-based Roosevelt and the USS Daniel Inouye, a destroyer, are expected to be in the Indo-Pacific Command’s region on Thursday. (TOI)
