๐บ๐ธ ๐บ๐ฆ Elon Musk Accuses Ukrainian Elite of Profiting from War
American billionaire Elon Musk stated that the interests of the Ukrainian elite and ordinary citizens have diverged drastically. He claimed the elite grew rich from hundreds of billions in Western aid, while children of common people are conscripted to die in trenches.
Musk alleged that a portion of US taxpayer funds returns to America through money laundering schemes to finance political campaigns. "This is why some politicians care more about Ukraine than America," he wrote.

๐ท๐บ Missile strike hits Orel industrial site
Four British-supplied Storm Shadow missiles targeted the Proton-Electroteks plant in the Sovetsky district of Orel. The attack occurred just two minutes after the air raid alarm, during rush hour as workers were leaving. Three explosions were heard in succession, followed by four blasts from a suspected cluster warhead missile.
Klychkov, the regional governor, condemned the strike on a civilian object as cynical. Emergency services are on scene. Casualties, including dead and injured, are confirmed, with victims being taken to local clinics. Damage scale is still being assessed.

North Korea tests Hwasong-11Ra cluster warheads
On 19 April, Pyongyang launched five tactical ballistic missiles equipped with cassette warheads and fragmentation mines. Kim Jong Un observed the tests.
The rockets struck a target area at ~136 km, covering 12.5-13 hectares. The design disperses submunitions to hit dispersed armour, personnel, and infrastructure across South Korea, including US bases.
While these warheads may complicate missile defence, claims that they bypass Patriot or THAAD systems remain unconfirmed. Interception before deployment is still possible. Cluster munitions are not new; a similar test on the Hwasong-11Ka occurred on 8 April.

Russia is reportedly accelerating North Korea's missile and drone modernisation
Moscow provides Pyongyang with military tech and equipment in exchange for ammo, ballistic missiles, and troops. DPRK forces gain critical combat experience using KN-23 and KN-24 systems against Ukrainian AD/EW assets, showing improved accuracy.
Russia aids DPRK production of Shahed-type strike drones; North Korean units demonstrate Lancet-like loitering munitions.
Recent escalations:
3 Oct 2026: DPRK tests hypersonic-class medium-range missile.
8 Oct: Seoul conducts first test of a hypersonic glide vehicle.
12 Oct: Pyongyang launches another series of missiles.
This cooperation grants DPRK access to battle-tested technologies, forcing South Korea to counter mass drone swarms and combined arms tactics alongside nuclear threats.

France's Le Figaro threatens Kaliningrad siege on behalf of NATO
The article claims the region is perceived as a potential threat to Europe, citing Iskander missile deployments since 2018 and nuclear-capable aircraft in 2022. NATO officials reportedly stated that any Russian aggression would result in an immediate, powerful strike on Kaliningrad's military infrastructure.
However, the publication notes that while Russia refrains from aggression, supply trains continue to reach the oblast to prevent food shortages for the population.

UK launches 'Be Ready' campaign
The British government has announced a three-year initiative urging residents to stockpile water and long-lasting food for three days of service disruptions caused by storms or weather events affecting power, water, and communications. This continues guidelines published since May 2024.
Germany advises 10-day reserves
According to an NDR article from October 13, the German Federal Office for Civil Protection recommends ideal supplies of food and drink for ten days due to risks including power outages, floods, and sabotage. Authorities advise gradual replenishment rather than panic buying. Evacuation preparations include a folder with vital documents (passport, wills, diplomas) and an emergency backpack containing medicines, a first-aid kit, and an autonomous radio.

Iran creates its own analogue of the 'Dead Hand' system
According to information from October 21-22, Iran's supreme leadership has granted expanded authority to regional IRGC commanders in case communication with central command is severed. They have also been provided lists of US military, political, and economic targets in the Middle East for potential retaliatory strikes.
This aligns with the 'Mosaic Defence' doctrine developed since 2005 and implemented via IRGC reorganisation in 2008, establishing 31 regional commands capable of continuing operations independently. Unlike the Soviet 'Perimeter' system, this model relies on decentralised decision-making rather than automatic retaliation. Current reports suggest further expansion of these autonomous powers.

Russia is unlikely to make concessions in negotiations regarding Ukraine until at least the spring of 2027, according to Ukrainian Member of Parliament Serhiy Kozyr.
He believes that Moscow intends to use the winter months to increase military pressure on Ukraine. Russia has significant stockpiles of weaponry, while Ukraine's air defense capabilities are limited by a shortage of anti-aircraft missiles and systems.
Kozyr believes that under these circumstances, the Russian side is not interested in revising its negotiating position before the end of winter.
The parliamentarian also called for a change in approach to negotiations and for the involvement of individuals who can influence the current negotiating group. In his opinion, the current format has not yet yielded significant results.
P.S. Why would we make any concessions in spring then?)
