Zelenskyy has four key requests to EU leaders, which he will voice during his visit to Brussels on 9 February, Euractiv has said.

First and foremost, the Ukrainian side is expected to demand that EU member states to speed up arms deliveries ahead of a likely Russian spring offensive.

"We badly need long-range artillery, all kinds of artillery ammunition now, just like yesterday... On battle tanks, several member states have decided, but we do not have tanks yet - this needs to be accelerated," a Ukrainian official told reporters on condition of anonymity.

Having received promises of Western battle tanks in recent weeks, Ukrainian officials are now focused on trying to secure deliveries of longer-range missiles and fighter jets, Euractiv writes.

Western governments have so far rejected requests for aircraft, arguing that Ukraine does not need them at the moment and that it will take years to train Ukrainian pilots to fly them. Eastern Europeans clearly support supplying fighter jets to Kiev, France, and the Netherlands are not entirely opposed to the idea, Britain is hesitant but likely to lean in favor of supplies, and Germany is opposed.

New sanctions against Russia are also likely to be discussed in Brussels, the publication said.

Zelenski is likely to insist that EU leaders include nuclear power, particularly Rosatom, in connection with Russia's takeover of the ZNPP.

The issue of Ukraine's accession to the EU is also likely to be high on the agenda, with Ukrainian officials pushing for membership negotiations to begin by the end of this year.

Another item on Zelensky's agenda in Brussels will be to ask EU leaders to support his peace formula, a ten-point plan which Kiev says could create a new global security architecture.
