Naftogaz will not negotiate with Gazprom on extending the agreement on the supply of Russian gas through the territory of Ukraine, the head of the Ukrainian energy company Alexey Chernyshev said in an interview with the Left Bank publication.

“Naftogaz will categorically not negotiate on extending the agreement with Gazprom <...> Ukraine’s gas transportation system and transit must work, but without Gazprom,” he said.

Chernyshev suggested that an increase in gas production in Ukraine (planned to increase to 15 billion cubic meters) will lead to the country becoming an exporter. The head of the company also said that Naftogaz plans to fill gas storage facilities at the level of 13.2 billion cubic meters. m as of November 1
