Tomorrow morning the men's 10km race starts, taking place in the "clear, fresh and sweet waters of the Seine, a river which to me seems like a goddess resting her beautiful limbs".
With the hope that all the athletes who competed in the women's 10km today are well, we will be attentive to what happens.
The Seine, miraculously returned to being swimmable, according to what was declared by Prof. Rats Pantegana, owner of the analysis laboratory appointed by the IOC to carry out the analyses in question. He gave the green light citing the following reason as being decisive:
"If I can live and thrive in these waters, along with millions of other rats, the athletes, as a rodent sub-species with only slightly less average intelligence, can do the same"
Thanks to the impeccable motivation of Prof. Pantegana, the IOC has given the green light to the races.
A simple question, though, remains. Given that until yesterday the Olympic Committee has not given permission for athletes to train in the Seine, would you go for a swim in its waste waters? Or, would you prefer to wait until seeing how bad the vomiting is and whether competitive vomiting will be made a new Olympic event?
