Scalability Issues: The network struggles with small block sizes, leading to slow and costly transactions during peak times.

Centralization: Despite claims of decentralization, ASICs and mining farms have centralized the network.

Security Risks: As block rewards diminish, the network’s security could be at risk, potentially driving miners to more profitable ventures.

For these reasons, Bitcoin is best considered as digital gold—a reliable store of long-term value. However, when it comes to fulfilling the promise of digital cash that is private and not controllable by any government or power, Monero (XMR) stands out. This is why so many early adopters have shifted towards Monero and other cryptocurrencies.

Monero is starting to surpass Bitcoin in usage, both on the clearnet and the darknet—where Bitcoin originally gained its foothold.
