The car was considered premium at the time as it retailed in the $3 price range and wore #Real Riders, despite not having a metal base, nor front & rear details. The ’67 has a raked stance while the new ’66 sits a lot closer to the ground. When comparing the two castings side-by-side, you can also tell that the ’66 has many more refined details to the casting. Given that this is a rare case in which the same designer designed the cars 20+ years apart, you can see how Mark’s skill has evolved in addition to his ability to utilize modern technology such as 3D printing. What’s funny is that the car is still sitting on #Real Riders LW5 Wheels as no #Real Rider that more closely resembles the 1:1 car’s wheels was developed. With that said, the chrome lip on the black 5-spokes looks twenty times better than the all gray LW5s on the Larry’s Garage release. The return of #Hot Wheels Boulevard in 2020 has been a welcomed addition in the eyes of collectors. Three waves into the star-studded lineup, we’ve seen a terrific array of diecast diversity. The line has showcased all kinds of cars the Hot Wheels team could see themselves in, including a few they have actually driven!

The site for the cars is inconveniently down at the time this article was published, but if you’ve been a collector for a while, you can probably recall most of them. From the 2020 #Boulevard line alone: the #’67 Camaro, ’18 COPO Camaro, this #’66 Pontiac GTO have all been released, with the #Twin Mill coming in mix D.

Instead of re-releasing the old Hot Wheels ’67 Pontiac GTO casting, Hot Wheels designer #Mark Jones Designed the new #’66 Pontiac GTO as a premium replacement for the ’67 GTO casting he designed over 20 years ago.

Early lists like this are often incomplete as specific models in them can be replaced with others, or even be discontinued as a whole. Still, it’s nice to see what is possibly coming from a line where there have been no new updates since March. As stated in the Q&A article I did with iD marketing for HWC (RLC members only), Walmart will now be carrying the line at the reduced price-point of $4.97 — which some collectors have already started finding on Walmart’s new fall reset. A packaging change is imminent so look for that as well.A list of cars that were found is below. Of course, some of the names are incomplete so it makes it hard to decipher exactly what the models are. With that said, which ones on the list strike you as interesting? Must-haves? The ’69 Alfa Romeo 33 Stradale from 2020 Hot Wheels Boulevard is one new model you can’t pass up
https://ift.tt/3ikNfwh
Saving page now... https://orangetrackdiecast.com/2020/10/01/69-alfa-romeo-33-stradale-2020-hot-wheels-boulevard/ As it appears live October 5, 2020 7:08:58 PM UTC MediaMediaShowcaseI came across a picked-over assortment of #Hot Wheels Boulevard yesterday at one of my local Walmarts. Gone were the Skyline, Kool Kombi, and new Toyota AE86 from the latest assortment of this #Walmart Exclusive line. It puzzled me how someone could leave what I consider the best car in the wave behind. No, I’m not some cult follower of #Alfa Romeos, let alone this specific car that I’ve most likely never seen a 1:1 of before. Rather, it’s this curvy Italian design from the 1960s that is in its stock, fiery red paint that is the real draw here.Orange Track DiecastHot Wheels ’69 Alfa Romeo 33 Stradale from the 2020 HW Boulevard line (side view)It is hard to believe that the #First Edition of the #’69 Alfa Romeo 33 Stradale is a #Walmart Exclusive here in the United States as this is truly a car that should be released on a much larger scale. Of course, as I say that, I really hope this mix of #Boulevard shows up in Europe as I know there are some #Alfa Romeo fans there that can appreciate such a design. Being that this is a new casting in a somewhat limited release — in its stock deco to boot — it’s hard to imagine us getting a better version of this casting somewhere down the line.Orange Track DiecastHot Wheels ’69 Alfa Romeo 33 Stradale from the 2020 HW Boulevard lineFiery red paint is one thing, but the casting execution by Hot Wheels designer, Mark Jones, is another. Not only was he tasked with capturing the curves of the 1:1 car in 1:64 scale, but his decision to have the window piece poke through the body to form the massive signature headlights of the #’69 Alfa Romeo 33 Stradale was a great call.QUICK LINK! Find available ’69 Alfa Romeo 33 Stradales for sale. The large windows of this car provide a chance for natural light to shine through, showing off an often underappreciated element of Hot Wheels cars: the interiors. To the casual observer, most interiors tend to blend together as seats, and steering wheels are mostly unexcitable at this scale in a single color. When there is a mid-engine involved in the design however, your first instinct is to check the number of cylinders, then comes playful engine roars as you push the car across the nearest flat surface. Yeah, mid-engine Hot Wheels are fun. Sometimes you pity the cardboard collector…Orange Track DiecastHot Wheels ’69 Alfa Romeo 33 Stradale from the 2020 HW Boulevard line (engine close-up)The #Boulevard #’69 Alfa Romeo 33 Stradale is ultra-cool and I’m glad whoever it was, left it behind. The vent detail on this thing is amazing and traditionally I just love the color red on an #Exotic car. The gray #Real Riders 8-Spoke Wheels cap off this car’s luxurious feel. Oh, and I see you exhaust detail there in the back.Orange Track DiecastHot Wheels ’69 Alfa Romeo 33 Stradale from the 2020 HW Boulevard line (rear view)Hopefully, this wave of #Boulevard is hitting in your neck of the woods as well. I can’t wait to find the others, but should you have to choose one car from this mix, go with the #’69 Alfa Romeo 33 Stradale. I don’t think you’ll be disappointed. There is no telling what the future holds for this casting as it could be done in a wide array of colors, or it could be a one & done. Either way, it doesn’t seem like we will see another red version soon, so if you choose to collect the most realistic deco for a casting, this is it.Post navigationFollow ORANGE TRACK DIECAST on WordPress.comTranslate%d bloggers like this:
