🔹Six Iranian political and social organizations in Europe have signed a letter requesting the International Council of Nurses to apply pressure on the Islamic Republic.

🔺The letter, co-signed by the Association for the Promotion of Open Society, the Iran Novin Party, the Association of Liberal Women of Iran, the Association of Iranian Generation Z, the Cyrus Think Tank, and the Association of Women's Movement Sepidar, expressed deep concern about the conditions faced by nurses in Iran.

🔺Addressed to Pamela Cipriano, President of the ICN, the letter stated: "Exhausting working conditions, insufficient wages, and lack of job security are among the critical issues that are putting immense pressure on this vital professional group. Yet the Islamic Republic has shown no interest in addressing their pligh."

🔸In the past week, nurses across various provinces in Iran have gone on strike, halting their professional activities in protest against these conditions.

Widespread protests and strikes have continued across Iran, with shopkeepers, workers, students, and ordinary citizens joining demonstrations in multiple cities. Markets in Tehran and several other urban centers have shut down in protest against soaring prices, currency collapse, and worsening living conditions, turning economic anger into open political dissent.

Demonstrations have also been reported in provincial cities, where crowds chanted openly anti-regime and nationalist slogans, signaling a clear rejection of the Islamic Republic’s authority. Despite heavy security presence and reports of tear gas and live-fire intimidation in some areas, protests have persisted, reflecting deep public frustration and a growing willingness to confront the regime despite the risks.

🔹“The 1979 Revolution Was a Historic Mistake”

Following the national uprising of Dey 1404 (December 2025–January 2026), a group of students from the University of Isfahan issued a statement declaring their support for the ongoing protests. The statement reads:

• On one side stands the history of Iran; on the other, future generations who will judge this moment. Silence and passivity today will be recorded tomorrow as complicity.
• The 1979 Revolution was a historic mistake, the cost of which Iranian society continues to pay. The order that emerged from it lacks both the capacity to govern and the legitimacy to represent. The continuation of this situation is neither reformable nor defensible.
• Standing against the people’s basic demands for rights, freedom, and dignity is no longer justifiable nor concealable.
