—❗️🇦🇱 SITUATION REPORT: Student protests escalate across Tirana.
➡️ Student-led demonstrations demanding better university conditions, financial support and job prospects entered a second day on Wednesday. Protesters have joined a wider movement calling for Prime Minister Edi Rama’s resignation over allegations of corruption. Some have also voiced opposition to opposition leader Sali Berisha.
➡️ Clashes spread across the capital. The Education Ministry caught fire, demonstrators forced their way into the Finance Ministry, and other government buildings, banks and shops were damaged. Police used tear gas and water cannon as protesters erected burning barricades.
➡️ The EU Delegation expressed concern about the escalation and called for urgent investigations into allegations of excessive police force against protesters and journalists. It urged proportionate policing and de-escalation by all sides.

🇷🇴 #Romania: The Comoros-flagged commercial vessel Yara J has been struck by a drone in Romanian territorial waters, around 8–10 nautical miles southeast of Sulina in the Black Sea.
All 17 crew members were reported safe, and the fire was brought under control.
Romanian authorities are investigating the incident. However, despite the reports, the Romanian Defence Ministry is saying that they can not confirm if it was indeed a drone strike.
