🥇 Central Banks Stockpile Gold

Goldman Sachs says global central banks bought 79 tonnes in August, over four times the pre-2022 monthly average of 17 tonnes. China was the largest known buyer at about 25 tonnes.

The Netherlands moved 86 tonnes from New York and Ottawa to London in six months, citing geopolitical instability. France sold 129 tonnes held in New York and bought gold in Europe, citing purity above 99.99%.

New York Fed holdings fell 40 tonnes in August, while Bank of England holdings rose 46 tonnes. 12% of central banks now withhold storage locations, up from 10% a year ago.

🤝 Arthur Hayes Moves to Cash

Arthur Hayes, co-founder of BitMEX and CIO of Maelstrom, said he sold his altcoins, including ETH, ENA and UNI, locking in profits and moving to cash.
