BNB Chain is preparing a new Layer 1 blockchain with no separate token. The working-name “New L1” network will produce blocks every 200 ms, with pre-confirmation in about 20 ms. It will run alongside BSC and connect through an official bridge.
The network is in internal testing with several validators. A public testnet is expected by the end of 2026, with mainnet planned for early 2027. Fees, staking, and governance will remain with BNB.
