🤝 Hayes Proposes AI Compute Futures

Arthur Hayes, co-founder of BitMEX, proposed a futures market for AI computing in his essay The Trifecta.

It describes Flop, where AI agents pay for computing in FLOP, miners earn tokens for completing tasks, and the network records an hourly compute price.

Users could reserve capacity for up to 30 days through resalable contracts. Miners who fail to deliver would lose their FLOP collateral.

Hayes also proposes quarterly futures and a dollar-settled perpetual contract for hedging and speculation. It is only a concept, not a trading launch, and Hayes leads the project he describes.

Crypto analyst Willy Woo modeled possible BTC trajectories using historical price movements. He identified $241,000–$413,000 as a reasonable range for the 2028 peak, while calling the model optimistic.

The simulation uses data from the 2018 and 2022 lows, the market-cycle phase, and BTC’s declining returns from cycle to cycle. Woo stressed it is a simulation, not a price forecast.

The breach hit Bithumb’s internal mobile office system DaouOffice and involved 6,444 customers. Data for 5,600 was encrypted and unreadable. Stolen details included names, phone numbers, emails, resident registration numbers, driver’s licence numbers, bank account numbers and ID copies.

✊ Warsh Flags Growth and Inflation

Kevin Warsh said US GDP growth in Q3 exceeded 3%. First-half growth was revised up to 2.4% from 1.8%, while employment was “quite positive.”

Inflation remains the Fed’s responsibility and has exceeded its target for nearly six years. Rising energy and related goods prices must not spread across the economy.

Financial markets show periods of volatility and shifting correlations. The Fed kept rates at 3.75–4.00%, with two committee members voting for a hike.
