🎱 Do prediction markets have a future?

Prediction markets like Polymarket are getting record attention, but they’re still far from mainstream. Even with $7.5B+ in cumulative volume, activity is concentrated in election cycles. Out of nearly 10,000 markets, only a few hundred see daily liquidity above $50K.

That shows the core issue: usage is episodic, not habitual. The product has PMF in crypto, but hasn’t broken into daily life.

➡️ Barriers: technical complexity, wallet setup, stablecoins, and the gambling stigma that draws regulators
➡️ Missed audience: most markets are tied to elections or token prices, not sports, economy, or daily life themes
➡️ UX gap: mass adoption needs fiat rails, mobile-first design, simple onboarding, and social gamification
➡️ Trust gap: reliable oracles and built-in safeguards against addiction are required for legitimacy
➡️ Fragmentation: liquidity is scattered across chains instead of pooled

The next step is integration with TradFi and consumer apps. Imagine a “Predictions” tab in a JPMorgan app, or FanDuel using blockchain rails for transparent odds. Add AI-driven liquidity tools and social features, and prediction markets could evolve from a crypto niche into a daily habit.

The takeaway: prediction markets won’t scale if they stay locked inside Web3. To matter, they must become as intuitive as banking apps and as trusted as sportsbooks. The question isn’t whether they work, it’s whether they’ll seize this moment to cross into the mainstream.

🐋 Whale drains $AAVE from exchanges

One address has been steadily pulling $AAVE into self-custody, showing large-scale conviction away from CEX liquidity. Over the past week, the wallet has cleared funds from Binance, Kraken, Bybit, OKX, and Gate.

➡️ 25,097 $AAVE ($7.9M) withdrawn in the last few hours
➡️ 167,451 $AAVE ($53.6M) withdrawn over the past week
➡️ Activity spread across multiple major exchanges

Whales don’t move size like this without a reason. Whether for long-term holding or a DeFi play, the effect is the same - less liquid supply on the open market.

JUST IN: Onchain data reveals that in the last 32 hours, the HTX address "HTX 48" moved around 60,000,000 WLFI tokens to a Binance deposit address. Justin Sun commented that only minor deposit tests were conducted with the exchange.

JUST IN: Justin Sun states that his address conducted minor generic exchange deposit tests with low amounts, resulting in address dispersion without any buying or selling, which couldn't influence the market.

🥷 North Korean “developers” stole $680K from Favrr

Six operatives from DPRK built 31 fake identities, posed as crypto devs, and infiltrated fan-token marketplace Favrr. Once inside, they planted backdoors, accessed private keys, and drained $680K disguised as normal transactions.

➡️ Fake IDs, LinkedIn/Upwork accounts, even claims of working at Polygon, OpenSea, Chainlink

➡️ Corporate-style setup: Google Docs for tasks, VPNs and rented PCs for cover, budget tracked to the cent

➡️ ZachXBT confirmed it was insider theft, not an outside hack

Scale of the problem: DPRK stole $1.34B in 2024 (60% of global hacks) and $1.5B ETH from Bybit in Feb 2025. An estimated 8,400 IT operatives are funding the regime’s weapons program by posing as freelancers.

The lesson is clear - not every threat comes from outside. Some are already on payroll.

❕Nasdaq moves against crypto-stock pumps

Nasdaq is tightening control over companies that raise money only to buy crypto and boost their share price.

➡️ Some firms may now need shareholder approval before issuing stock for crypto purchases
➡️ The aim is to curb speculative behavior and artificial rallies linked to token holdings

The exchange is signaling that “buying Bitcoin for the chart” won’t pass unchecked anymore.

🔥 Why buybacks are the new meta

In TradFi, revenue defines success. In crypto, that logic is catching up, and token buybacks are becoming the clearest way to show it.

➡️ Protocols with strong revenue often buy back tokens or share income. Hyperliquid puts 93% of $1B+ annual fees into $HYPE buybacks. OKX, Raydium and BONK use similar playbooks.

➡️ But design matters. Pear Protocol’s revenue share lets whales dominate rewards after unlocks, showing how buybacks can fail if tokenomics don’t fit.

➡️ Compared to airdrops or revenue-sharing, buybacks add a deflationary edge: holders get scarcity, price support, and extra yield.

The lesson is simple: buybacks only work with real PMF and sustainable cash flow. Without that, they’re just a short-term stunt.

📉 September is Bitcoin’s worst month

Over the last 10 years, September delivered an average return of –2.8%, the weakest month for BTC.

➡️ Only 39% of Septembers closed positive
➡️ August is often red too, but less severe
➡️ Seasonality points to pressure before year-end rallies

A reminder that Bitcoin’s toughest stretch of the year is here.

90% of the time altcoins barely move.

But the other 10% of the time they see explosive pumps and it almost feels like money falls from the sky.

Your job is to not leave crypto during the boring market phase.
