Mark Cuban sold most of his BTC after being disappointed by its safe-haven performance. During the Iran conflict, the dollar weakened and gold rose, but BTC fell.

He said, "I always thought Bitcoin was better than gold. Every time the dollar fell, Bitcoin was supposed to rise, and it didn’t." He once held 60% of his crypto portfolio in BTC.

💰 US Proposes Strategic Bitcoin Reserve Bill

The US Congress introduced a new bill to create a strategic Bitcoin reserve, aiming to accumulate 1 million BTC, about 5% of the total Bitcoin supply. The proposal has bipartisan support and over 10 co-sponsors.

The reserve would partly be formed from already confiscated digital assets. Meanwhile, US authorities reported seizing nearly $500 million in cryptocurrencies linked to Iran.

The bill’s authors explicitly compare Bitcoin to gold, calling it the main store of value within the crypto market.

💵 Dunkrad Proposes $1B Fund to Rescue Ethereum

Dunkrad Feist, former Ethereum Foundation researcher, said the Ethereum ecosystem needs a new organization with its own funding and influence over development. The Foundation controls less than 0.1% ETH and earns no staking or fee revenue, limiting growth.

Feist proposed a structure with at least $1 billion in capital, partly from staking income. The idea sparked debate, with some fearing Ethereum could become a "corporate blockchain."

Bank of America, the second-largest US bank, increased its stake in BlackRock's IBIT Bitcoin fund to about $37 million in Q1 but reduced positions in Ethereum and Solana ETFs.
