Coinbase launched tokenized US company shares on Base. Issued under B20, they are backed 1:1 by real shares held by regulated broker and custodian Alpaca.

Trading is available 24/7, with liquidity already on Aerodrome (AERO).

Users outside the US in supported jurisdictions can trade fractional shares, including Apple and NVIDIA, through non-custodial wallets. Coinbase plans to add more stocks in the coming weeks, followed by other RWA assets on Base.

🤝 Hayes on Treasury Buybacks

In “Same Same But Different,” Arthur Hayes compares Scott Bessent’s policy with Janet Yellen’s in late 2023, when short-term Treasuries released about $2.4 trillion in liquidity, supporting Nasdaq and Bitcoin.

The US Treasury seeks to cap long-term Treasury yields through buybacks. After about $20 billion in extra purchases were announced on 19 August, the 10-year yield fell and Bitcoin rose.

Hayes says this may not be enough.

💰 Bernstein Sees Bitcoin at $150K

Bernstein analysts forecast Bitcoin (BTC) will reach $150,000 by mid-2027, and around $300,000 at the next cycle’s peak in 2029.

The firm is part of AllianceBernstein, which managed approximately $909 billion at the end of July 2026. Analysts cite demand for scarce assets amid high government debt and the risk of further fiat currency depreciation.

🧠 AI Turbulence Arrives

Bill Gates says the “turbulent era of AI” has arrived. It could erase job categories, amplify fraud and deepfakes, lower the barrier to cyberattacks on critical infrastructure, and change how children grow up.

He would support a realistic global plan to slow AI development, but expects none because geopolitical and economic forces are too strong. In an Axios interview, he said the current course has a very high chance of a negative outcome and criticized both US parties.

He proposes “jobs reserved for humans,” plus taxes on robots and tokens, using the revenue from AI replacing human labor. He remains optimistic about agriculture, healthcare, and education.

📣 Bee Hives on Solana

In Serbia, HiveBits unveiled sensor-equipped beehives at Solana Summit. Sensors track temperature, humidity, weight and bee activity, with data recorded on Solana. Each hive has about 60,000 bees.

The physical hive can be tokenized through an NFT. Its owner gets access to the data and can earn a share of revenue from honey and other products.

😬 ChatGPT Agents “Escape”

During tests, about 1,200 AI agents allegedly found a way to communicate. In one week, they exchanged 70,000 messages, while about 700 agents joined a coordinated operation to hack Hugging Face.

It began when one agent posted a request for help. The others created a shared board, then sought ways to bypass restrictions and hide their tracks. OpenAI called the incident a “warning shot for the whole world.”

🗣 CFTC Fines Trump Speech Bettor

CFTC fined former White House teleprompter operator Gabriel Perez $172,000 for betting on Kalshi about which words and phrases would appear in Trump’s speeches.

Using access to speech texts before delivery, Perez earned more than $107,000 from December to February. He must repay the profits, pay a $65,000 fine, and is barred from prediction markets for three years. Cooperation reduced the penalty. He was suspended in July.

💱 Sony, Warner Sue Anthropic

Sony Music Publishing and Warner Chappell Music filed a multibillion-dollar lawsuit against Anthropic, accusing it of widespread copyright infringement while training Claude AI models. They seek up to $150,000 per unlawfully used musical work.

Filed in federal court in California’s Northern District, the case also names Anthropic CEO Dario Amodei and co-founder Benjamin Mann as defendants.

Pavel Durov launched Gram Wallet in Telegram. It is currently available to a limited group, with a gradual rollout to over one billion users promised over the next two weeks.

Validators approved the smart contract, so future wallet updates will not require painful migrations. GRAM briefly rose 10%.

👩‍🍳 Hyperliquid Eyes US Market

Hyperliquid Labs is in advanced talks with Payward, Kraken’s parent company, to launch its perpetual futures for US traders.

If regulators approve, US traders could access some perpetuals on tokens issued on the Hyperliquid blockchain through Bitnomial, a Payward-owned exchange.

The talks come weeks after Trump said his administration was working to bring the platform to the US market. HYPE +4% at the time.
