Binance Research analysts concluded this in their weekly market report on April 2. The structural shift occurred after the launch of spot Bitcoin ETFs in 2024.

They tracked the correlation between central bank rate decisions and BTC price before and after the ETFs appeared.

Before 2024, Bitcoin lagged monetary easing cycles with a correlation of +0.21 to the global easing index.

After the ETF launch, this reversed and strengthened threefold to -0.778, meaning Bitcoin now moves ahead of central bank announcements.

Analysts attribute this to a change in margin buyers: institutional investors via ETFs price in macro scenarios 6-12 months in advance, turning Bitcoin into a leading monetary cycle asset.
