Песня сопровождается визуальным рядом, режиссер Дэниел Аскиллл. "Happens to the Heart" следует за ранее вышедшей песней "The Goal." Альбом был спродюсирован сыном Леонарда Адамом Коэном. В записи альбома приняли участие Feist, Beck, Damien Rice, Richard Reed Parry, the National’s Bryce Dessner, Daniel Lanois и другие.

Здесь мы имеем есть остатки с барского стола под названием "I Want It Darker", и это не есть хорошо, Изя, потому что люди беспокоятся, куда ушёл мэтр, и зачем он ушёл не один, а со всей своей харизмой. Девять песен, Изя. Но одна всё-таки да. Та, в которой “I was always working steady, but I never called it art". Но давай всё-таки послушаем великого и могучего, которому сама Дженис Джоплин в отеле Челси... да что там говорить (Челси - чемпион!). Один мой знакомый, когда приводил в свою маленькую холостяцкую квартирку очередную.. болельщицу Челси, ставил пластинку Л. Коэна на хайэндовскую вертушку, со всеми этими басами на 10, со всеми пирогами, усилителем и огромными колонками....Где-то начиная со второй песни болельщицы Челси уже подпевали старине Леонарду... Вот такова сила искусства, ма шер. Сила винила (ничего что я стихами?). Thanks for the dance, dear.

Видео, снятое Laure Prouvost и Ciarán Wood, является данью памяти греческому острову Гидра (Hydra), любимому приюту, который Леонард предпочитал всю свою жизнь.
