🥚 Why are Orbs so rare?
Orbs in FOLK aren’t just lying around everywhere. Their rarity makes them even more valuable, and here’s why getting an Orb is a real event:

Random chance: Orbs drop randomly when you hatch eggs, and the chance of getting one is always the same. Every time you open an egg, there’s a possibility of getting an Orb, but luck is fickle. No matter how many eggs you’ve already opened, every try is a clean slate

Orb burning: In Season 2, Orbs will be used to level up your Folks, and they will be burned in the process, reducing the total number of Orbs in circulation. This means that with each upgraded Folk, there will be fewer Orbs available, making them even more valuable. But don’t worry, as more players join the game, the total number of Orbs will increase

Dependence on the number of players: The number of Orbs grows in proportion to the total number of players. The more new players join, the more Orbs appear in the world of FOLK. If the flow of new players slows down, the number of Orbs dropping will decrease too. So keep an eye on the “population” - more players, more chances for Orbs to appear!

💀 Where can you get an Orb?
Getting an Orb is like spotting a unicorn: a rare occurrence, but with our tips, your chances will increase:

Egg hatching: Orbs drop from top level eggs. The chance is small, but if you’re lucky, the Orb will automatically be transferred to your linked wallet. Here’s the catch - you need to link your wallet to your account beforehand. Without this step, all your luck will be for nothing, and the Orb won’t be delivered to you. So don’t forget this step before you start your hunt!

Secondary market: If luck hasn’t been on your side yet, there’s always the NFT marketplace where you can buy an Orb from other players. Of course, it’ll cost you, since rarity comes at a price, but for those who prefer the fast lane, this is a solid option

Affinity points are not just a measure of how much your Folks love you (although, let’s be honest, it’s nice to think that you’re their favorite). These points are the key to powering up your Folks. The more your Folks care about you, the stronger they can become. So get ready, because petting your Folks isn’t just for fun - it’s a crucial part of their development!

🕊 What are Affinity Points used for?

At level one, each Folk will need a minimum of 10 affinity points to merge, but don’t get too comfortable - this number will go up with each new level

If your Folks have more points than necessary for merging, don’t worry - the extra points won’t be lost. They’ll be passed on to the newly merged Folk. For example, if two Folks have 11 and 15 points, and only 10 points are required, your new Folk will keep 6 leftover points. So, your efforts won’t go to waste!

And yes, affinity points aren’t just for merging. They’ll also be useful in single-player battles. And maybe they’ll find even more uses... who knows? In the world of FOLK, anything is possible! 😐
