The train driver involved in a deadly collision with a bus in Bangkok has tested positive for drugs, according to Thai police. The driver, who did not have a rail transport licence either, has been charged with reckless driving causing death and serious injury. CCTV footage reportedly showed that the crash occurred about two minutes after a railway official briefly waved a red warning flag. Data from the locomotive’s black box also revealed that the driver applied emergency brakes approximately 100m before the collision but failed to stop the heavy convoy in time. The accident on Saturday May 16 left eight people dead and around 30 others injured.

Philippines – A POV video from the response to a major residential fire in Sitio Silangan 2, Barangay Tejero, Cebu City on Saturday evening, May 16, 2026, shows firefighters and volunteers battling a fast-spreading blaze that reached 3rd Alarm status.

The footage includes responders from the , who were among the first on scene as flames engulfed multiple homes in the densely populated area.

At around the 4:40 mark, a cat is seen jumping away from the burning structure as responders continue firefighting efforts nearby.
