Flash Flood in Santiago, Chile

On 8 October 2026, heavy rainfall triggered flash flooding in Las Condes, in eastern Santiago, Chile. Floodwaters swept away cars and buses, flooded homes and affected a hospital emergency department. At least six people were injured.

The Mapocho River overflowed, and emergency crews rescued or evacuated more than 1,000 people. Authorities declared a state of catastrophe in Las Condes and issued warnings in surrounding areas because of the risk of further flooding and landslides.

And we do all of it without ever being shown the document that proves any of it was agreed to.

Not with our genuine, informed consent.

This isn't just about politics.

I'm not refusing any of this because I disagree with how the money is spent.

Although I do.

But I'm actually focused on asking a more fundamental question.

Was the authority that demands all of this ever lawfully established?

Did anyone ever actually ask us?

So I started looking for answers.

Because I looked.

And I couldn't find the answer.
