🔹 وارونگی (inversion) به معنی آوردن فعل قبل از فاعل است که بهترین نمونه آن در جملات سوالی دیده میشود، اما در برخی جملات خبری وارونگی رخ میدهد:

✔️ 1. جملات شرطی در متون ادبی میتوان از وارونگی استفاده کرد

⚠️ نکته: در جملات شرطیِ یک وارونگی به این حالت است که بجا if از should استفاده کنیم و اولِ جمله بیاید، در شرطی دو فقط زمانی که بجای If sb were از were استفاده می کنیم، و در شرطی نوع سه بجای If از had استفاده کنیم، بدین شکل:

🔸 شرطی یک:
♦️If she studies, she will pass the exam.
🔸 به شکل زیر تبدیل میشه:
♦️ Should she study, she will pass the exam.
🔸 شرطی نوع دو:
♦️ If I were you, I wouldn't do so.
🔸 به شکل زیر تبدیل میشه:
♦️ Were I you, I wouldn't do so.
🔸 شرطی نوع سه:
♦️ If I had known his address, I would have gone to see him.
🔸 به شکل زیر تبدیل میشه:
♦️ Had I known his address, I would have gone to see him.

✔️ 2. در ساختارهای پرهیز از تکرار با nor , neither , so و بندهایی که با neither/nor آغاز می‌شوند وارونگی رخ میدهد:

♦️ I don't like Tom, and neither does Jane.
🔸 برای so هم به این حالت وارونگی رخ میدهد:
♦️+ I like swimming
- So do I.

✔️ 3. پس از قیود نفی یا عبارات و اصطلاحات منفی وقتی ابتدای جمله می آیند:
♦️ Hardly had I arrived when the bomb exploded.

♦️ Not only did he help me a lot, he was also very sympathetic.

♦️ Not until much later did she learn who her real father was.

🔸 این قیود معمولا شامل never, barely , scarcely , hardly و
ترکیباتی مانند under no circumstances
و not only/until/since می باشند.

✔️ 4. وقتی جمله با only شروع بشه به سه حالت وارونگی داریم:

💢 4.1. وقتی که قید زمان مثلا
then , later , recently , once , in this/that way , by chance , today , ...
بعد از only که اول جمله است بیاید:
♦️ Only then did I undestand what she meant.

♦️ Only once did she come late to school.

💢 4.2. اگر بعد از only که اول جمله است از عبارت حرف اضافه(که با with/by/at/on/in و ... شروع می‌شوند) استفاده کنیم وارونگی خواهیم داشت:

♦️ Only with a great deal of effort was he able to escape.

♦️ Only by writing things down could I bring some sort of order to the confusion.

💢 4.3. سومین حالت inversion با only این است که بعد از only از یکی از سه کلمات(if/when/after) و بعد از آن جمله عادی داریم که بعدش یه ویرگول(بصورت اختیاری) میاریم سپس وارونگی داریم، به این فرمول:
🔸 Only + (if/when/after) + dependant clause +(,) + independent clause

♦️ Only if I used the example of all mankind's progress toward paradise was there any meeting of minds.

♦️ Only after he had graduated, did he call me.

♦️ Only when the rule can have some meaningful effect is it to be applied

⚠️ نکته: پس اگر only از سه حالت بالا خارج شد وارونگی نداریم، و خودِ only به تنهایی کاری از دستش برنمیاد که وارون کنه:

♦️ Only members can park there.

✔️ 5. وقتی جمله با قید مکان یا عبارات قیدی مکان شروع شود و سپس یک اسم با فعل می آید(این حالت حتی برای then صدق میکند):
♦️ Here comes Freddy.

♦️ Under a tree was sitting the richest man in the world.

♦️ The first moving pictures were simple "shadow shows" or " shadow plays". Then came the magic lantern which projected painted glass slides on to a screen.

♦️ In the door stood her father.

♦️ Here is a news summary.

⚠️ نکته: کلیه جملات بالا به این دلیل وارونگی دارند که قید مکان یا مثلا then اول جمله امده، و اگر اول جمله نیاد دیگه وارونگی نداریم:
♦️ Her father stood in the door

♦️ A news summary is here

⚠️ نکته: اگر نهاد ما ضمیر باشه دیگه نیازی به inversion نداریم:

♦️ In the door he stood.

♦️ Here he comes.

✔️ 6. در نقل قول مستقیم همراه افعال ask و say:

🔸 6.1. وقتی فاعل یک اسمِ خاص باشد و در انتهای جمله بیاید:

♦️"What do you mean?" asked Henry.

🔸 6.2. وقتی فاعل یک اسمِ عام باشد استفاده از وارونگی اختیاری است، ولی اگر این اسم طولانی بود از وارونگی استفاده میکنیم:

♦️ "Let's go" said the man with two big luggages.

♦️ "My name is Mark" said the boy (the boy said)

🔸 6.3. اما اگه ضمیر باشه دیگه inversion نداریم:

♦️ "What do you mean?" he asked.

♦️ "My name is Mark" he said.

✔️ 7. بعد از so, than, as وارونگی روی میدهد. البته نباید بعد از as و than ضمیر بکار رفته باشد:

♦️ She was very religious, as were most of her friends.
