而在另一边，在第十一届全球深度报道大会上，与会者之一Cecile Andrzejewski认为，“受害人即便不去报案，通常也会向其他人员与机构寻求帮助，例如医院、心理治疗师或类似于受害者互助会等 NGO。基于此，她建议记者积极地向当事人争取医院的病历，或心理治疗师的诊疗记录，甚至是 NGO 组织的活动参与记录。这些文件可以确认故事的真实性，也可以成为性犯罪行为发生的证据。”
这个问题显然不能一概而论，这两种看似冲突的说法也并不一定是互斥的。更重要的问题是，我们如何针对具体的情境给出优先顺序，比如是保密协议更重要，还是揭发事实更重要？这种优先顺序也许永远无法实现普遍共识，但我们至少可以做到的是在具体的排序上，保持透明和负责。
