Players of Iran’s women’s national football team have been informed that if they do not sing the government anthem, fail to perform the “military salute” during the anthem, or even attempt to seek asylum in Australia and do not return to Iran, security authorities, particularly the IRGC Intelligence Organization, may arrest their immediate family members, including their parents, spouse, or siblings.
These threats appear aimed at forcing athletes into compliance and silencing any dissent or personal decisions, effectively turning families into tools of pressure and hostage-taking.

Des joueuses de l’équipe nationale féminine de football d’Iran ont été informées que si elles ne chantent pas l’hymne du régime, si elles n’exécutent pas le « salut militaire » pendant l’hymne, ou si elles tentent de demander l’asile en Australie et ne rentrent pas en Iran, les autorités sécuritaires, en particulier le service de renseignement des Gardiens de la révolution (IRGC), pourraient arrêter leurs proches au premier degré, notamment leurs parents, leur conjoint(e) ou leurs frères et sœurs.

Ces menaces visent à contraindre les sportives à l’obéissance et à étouffer toute contestation ou décision personnelle, en transformant les familles en instruments de pression, voire en otages.
