We urge the @UNGeneva and @UNHumanRights to launch an independent investigation into the case of #ToomajSalehi, an Iranian rapper.
Toomaj Salehi was violently abducted, tortured, and jailed for supporting the #WomanLifeFreedom protests, defending human rights, and criticizing the regime's human rights abuses.
He endured 252 days of solitary confinement and further harassment after speaking out about the violations he suffered at the hands of the regime. He was recently sentenced to 7 years in prison, 1 from a recent sham trial held without his lawyer present, and 6 stemming from his initial abduction. The charges are widely considered false and defamatory. Furthermore, he requires surgery for a broken leg and must be released immediately and unconditionally.

Iranian Singer Mehdi Yarahi Flogged for Protest Song
Tehran, Iran – Iranian singer Mehdi Yarahi has reportedly been subjected to 74 lashes as part of a sentence handed down by the judiciary. The punishment stems from his song “Roosarito” (Your Headscarf), which was released in support of Iran’s Woman, Life, Freedom movement.
Yarahi was arrested in August 2023 after the song’s release and was sentenced to two years and eight months in prison, along with a fine and a flogging sentence. Reports indicate that the flogging was carried out recently.
His case is part of a broader crackdown on artists and public figures who have expressed solidarity with anti-government protests following the death of Mahsa Amini in September 2022.

شبکه فارسی زبان وزارت امور خارجه آمریکا به شدن خشونت و تبعیض علیه زنان و دختران در ایران را محکوم کرد و با تاکید برجنایت هایی که علیه زنان در ایران از جمله کودک هسری و قتل های خانگی روی می دهد، شجاعت و استقامت زنان ایران ستود.
پیام کامل وزارت امور خارجه به شرح زیر است:
« ایالات متحده آمریکا خشونت و تبعیض مداوم علیه زنان و دختران در ایران را بهشدت محکوم میکند. تنها در سال گذشته، بیش از ۱۰۰ زن و دختر، از جمله کودکان پنج ساله، در نتیجه خشونتهای خانوادگی در ایران کشته شدند. دلایل این خشونتها شامل امتناع از ازدواج اجباری یا کودک همسری، درخواست طلاق، یا صرفاً تلاش برای ابراز استقلال خود بوده است. علاوه بر این خشونتها، زنان همچنان به طور منظم با تهدید و خشونت از سوی رژیم جمهوری اسلامی مواجه هستند. با وجود این بیعدالتیهای شدید، زنان ایرانی همچنان شجاعت فوقالعادهای از خود نشان میدهند، با سرکوب مقابله میکنند و تغییر را برای آینده جامعه خود خواهانند. ایالات متحده در کنار زنان ایران و تمامی ایرانیان آزادیخواه در پیگیری عدالت و کرامت انسانی ایستاده است.»
