Execution of Two Prisoners Carried Out in Karaj and Kermanshah Prisons

The death sentence of two prisoners charged with “premeditated murder” was carried out in Karaj and Kermanshah prisons.
According to the Campaign for the Defense of Political and Civil Prisoners, the execution sentences of two prisoners — Armin Bahrami, imprisoned for the past five years, and Sirous Jafari — who had been sentenced to death by the judiciary on charges of “premeditated murder,” were carried out in Karaj and Dizelabad (Kermanshah) prisons.

The execution of Armin Bahrami was carried out on Sunday, May 18, 2025, in Karaj Central Prison (Nedamatgah).
The execution of Sirous Jafari was carried out on Saturday, May 17, 2025, in Dizelabad Prison of Kermanshah.

Efforts by the families of these two prisoners to obtain the consent of the victims’ families (to halt the executions) were unsuccessful.

At the time of this report, the executions of these two prisoners have not been announced by domestic media or the judiciary.

Execution of Pedram Madani, Accused of Espionage

The death sentence of Pedram Madani, accused of “espionage for Israel,” has been carried out.

According to the Campaign for the Defense of Political and Civil Prisoners, quoting media of the Islamic Republic, on Wednesday, May 28, 2025, reports confirmed the execution of Pedram Madani on charges of “espionage for Israel.”

Pedram Madani was arrested in Tehran in 2020 on charges of “espionage for Israel” and “illegal gain of property,” and was sentenced to death.

During his detention, he was subjected to physical and psychological torture and was pressured into making forced confessions against himself.

This verdict was overturned three times by the Supreme Court, but each time, the parallel branch reissued the death sentence.

The legal proceedings surrounding his case were marked by serious ambiguities and contradictions. Just a day prior, Pedram Madani’s mother and other human rights activists had warned of the danger of his execution following his transfer to Ghezel Hesar Prison in Karaj.

Execution of Babak Mostafavi Carried Out in Neishabour Prison

The death sentence of Babak Mostafavi, charged with “drug-related offenses,” was carried out in Neishabour Prison.

According to the Campaign for the Defense of Political and Civil Prisoners, the execution of 27-year-old Babak Mostafavi, who had been sentenced to death by the judiciary on charges related to drugs, was carried out on Saturday, June 28, 2025, in Neishabour Prison.

Babak Mostafavi was a resident of Neishabour and had worked as a forklift driver prior to his arrest.

At the time of this report, the execution has not been announced by state media or the judiciary.
