Adham Narouei, a Death Row Inmate, Returned to Zahedan Prison from Hospital

#Adham_Narouei, a political prisoner sentenced to death who had previously been transferred to the hospital due to a suicide attempt in prison, was returned to Zahedan Central Prison on Tuesday, June 4, 2024.

According to the Campaign for the Defense of Political and Civil Prisoners, Mr. Narouei attempted suicide by swallowing pills on the night of Thursday, May 30, due to the psychological and emotional pressures of his death sentence.

After a period of treatment at Khatam al-Anbia Hospital in Zahedan, his condition improved, and he was returned to prison.

Adham Narouei and Mohammad Zein-ol-Dini, two Iranian Baloch, were arrested during an altercation in 2021 and sentenced to death on charges of “moharebeh” (enmity against God). They have repeatedly denied the charges against them.
