Nasrin Shakarami, the mother of Nika Shakarami, who was killed during the nationwide protests in 2022, reported that her older daughter, Aida Shakarami, was arrested by Tehran’s security police for not observing the mandatory hijab.
According to the Campaign for the Defense of Political and Civil Prisoners, on Wednesday, April 17th, 2024, Ms. Shakarami wrote on her Instagram: “My daughter Aida was arrested by Tehran’s security police for not observing the mandatory hijab. She remains in detention.”
