On Tuesday, January 23rd, 2024, #Mohammad_Ghobadlou, one of the detainees of the nationwide “Women Life Freedom” protests in Iran, was executed. Ghobadlou’s lawyer wrote about this: Despite Mr.
Ghobadlou’s death sentence reversal by country Supreme Court, he has received a notification setting the execution date for his client for Tuesday, January 23rd, 2024. Ghobadlou’s lawyer considered this action to be a denial of his client’s legal rights and that is equivalent to legal murder.
According to the Campaign for the Defense of Political and Civil Prisoners, Mohammad Ghobadlou, one of the detainees of the nationwide “Women Life Freedom” protests in Iran, was executed at dawn in Ghezel Hesar Prison in Alborz province on Tuesday, January 23rd, 2024. He was accused of intentionally running over a group of police officers and murdering Farid Karampour.
According to the lawyer’s statement, Ghobadlou’s death sentence was reversed in the Supreme Court, but finally he was executed in Ghezel Hesar Prison on Tuesday morning.
This action provoked reactions in social media and some users called Ghobadlou’s execution “extrajudicial killing” and “crime”.
