Mohammad Sadeghi, Teacher Union Activist, Sent to Arak Prison

#Mohammad_Sadeghi, a retired teacher and a union activist, has been transferred to Arak Prison after appearing at the Branch of Execution of Judgments of the Public and Revolutionary Court of Arak to begin serving his one-year sentence.

According to the Campaign for the Defense of Political and Civil Prisoners, on Tuesday April 2nd, 2024, Mr. Sadeghi was taken to Arak Prison to serve his sentence. He was previously detained by security forces and was released on bail in February 2023.

Arak second Branch of the Revolutionary Court, presided over by Judge Hosseini, had sentenced Mr. Sadeghi to three years and seven months in prison for charges of “assembly and collusion” and eight months in prison for charges of “propaganda against the regime”.

Suppression of Teachers Continues: Mohammad Sadeghi, Union Activist, Transferred to Arak Prison

#Mohammad_Sadeghi, a retired teacher and union activist, was transferred to Arak Prison to serve a one-year sentence for disciplinary imprisonment on April 20th, 2024.

According to the Campaign for the Defense of Political and Civil Prisoners, Mr. Sadeghi had previously been sentenced to three years and seven months in prison for charges of assembly and collusion, and eight months of disciplinary imprisonment for charges of propaganda against the regime, by Judge Hosseini in Branch 2 of the Arak Revolutionary Court.

This verdict was reduced to one year of disciplinary imprisonment by Judge Mohsen Edelat in the Eighth Branch of the Central Province Revision Court in March 2024.
