Continued Detention and Uncertainty of Mojgan Salmanzadeh, an Iranian Baha'i Citizen

#Mojgan_Salmanzadeh, an Iranian Baha’i citizen and researcher in the field of physiological psychology, remains in a state of uncertainty in Urmia prison. This Baha’i citizen was arrested by security forces in Maku on July 4, 2024. After her transfer to the general ward of Urmia prison, no news about her condition has been released.

According to the Campaign for the Defense of Political and Civil Prisoners, 23 days have passed since her arrest, and not only have no specific charges been announced against Ms. Salmanzadeh, but numerous requests for her temporary release have also been unsuccessful.

As a Baha’i citizen and researcher, Ms. Salmanzadeh has consistently faced restrictions and discrimination in Iran due to her religious beliefs. Her arrest once again raises concerns about human rights violations and religious freedom in Iran.
